Oberlin Violin Makers Workshop

Raising the level of Violin Making

The Oberlin Violin Makers Workshop is an annual two-week, intensive, graduate level program for professional violin makers. Participants are active in the profession and are expected to have completed a 4 year violin making program or the equivalent.


With emphasis on the health and safety of our participants and of the Oberlin Community, the 2020 Oberlin violin makers workshop has been canceled due to the covid-19 pandemic. We have every hope that the workshop will continue in 2021.

Activities

Lectures, demonstrations, large and small meetings, and hands-on construction of group projects, individual work and  informal discussions.

Creating a continuing legacy for violin makers

Archives are assembled through independent research and participant contributions .

Group Projects

Instruments are cooperatively built to support the Oberlin Workshop.
