During the June 2013 Workshop videographers from Oberlin caught the flavor of why makers come to Oberlin and what the experience is like.
The VSA/Oberlin Violinmaker’s Workshop is a two-week, intensive, graduate level program designed for professional makers. The workshop philosophy is: everyone teaches, everyone learns. Each participant is encouraged to share ideas, techniques and research with the rest of the group, thus raising the knowledge level within our craft. Part of each day is spent with group activities, consisting of lectures, demonstrations and discussions. Participants spend the rest of their time engaged in their own work. There is a specific theme or focus to each session.
